Detroit Term | Now booking: Meijer has pictures of Covid for Detroit metropolitan residents over 65

Covid-19 vaccinations expand at Meijer pharmacies, which open vaccine clinics across the state this week and plans to give up to 25,000 doses by the end of the week to those who are at least 65 years old.

It is necessary to register and book in advance here, or send “COVID” to 75049. Personal registration in stores is another method.

People who signed up earlier started receiving text invitations today to choose a time at the Detroit store in Woodward at 8 Mile Road and other branches.

The Grand Rapids-based chain, which has about 125 stores in Michigan, said in an ad:

As a CDC approved partner, the Meijer pharmacy has started to administer and will continue to administer free Covid-19 vaccines as soon as they are available to us. …

Since its first clinic on January 15, the retailer has administered more than 20,000 doses in Michigan and more than 30,000 doses in general, primarily for seniors 65 and older. This week’s aggressive vaccination schedule is made possible through partnerships with multiple Michigan counties and cities, along with doses received from the State of Michigan and the Centers for Disease Control. …

Vaccine clinics run by Meijer are not open to itinerant visitors. … Meijer encourages anyone interested in receiving the vaccine to register, as the retailer plans to eventually offer the vaccine to all eligible Michiganders … in the coming weeks and months.

After the first injection, recipients will be reserved for a second dose in three weeks.
