Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Monte Carlo, kinetic rifle: 29 legendary fragments
  • Fr0st-EE5, hunter’s legs: 23 legendary fragments
  • Guards of Antaeus, titan legs: 23 legendary fragments
  • Vesper of Radius, Warlock’s chest: 23 legendary fragments
  • Exotic engram: 97 legendary fragments (now you can buy a second with an exotic cipher)
  • Exotic Cipher quest: free

Xur’s items fall to a level of power similar to that of your character.

Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is an older exotic car rifle from the original Destiny, brought back to life in Destination 2: Shadowkeep. Its main exotic benefit is Monte Carlo Method, which reduces the cooldown time of your melee ability whenever you deal damage with Monte Carlo, and offers a chance to redefine melee ability in a Monte Carlo death. The secondary advantage of Monte Carlo is the Markov chain, which increases weapon damage after primary fire or melee kills. The Markov Jail also grants ammunition in melee deaths.

Monte Carlo was a beloved automobile rifle in the original Destiny, and is even better at Destiny 2. The weapon offers some serious utility for hand-to-hand constructions and is great for shooting. Like most exotic primaries, this is not the type of weapon you want to take for a new attack. But to roam the universe, break space robots and punch space rhinos, it’s the perfect companion.

Fr0st-EE5

Fr0st-EE5 is an exotic that returns from Destiny. Its intrinsic advantage is Fast cooling. As you run, your dodge energy, melee and grenade will recharge quickly. Dodging will also increase your sprint speed.

Fr0st-EE5 has a fun design that feeds itself in an elegant way. The real utility of the benefit is an entirely different matter, however. Hunters have so many good exotics that, even though the Fr0st-EE5 regeneration is incredible. These boots gained a strange love when cultivating Nightfall weapons or sprint content. If you are a main Hunter and don’t have one yet, consider taking them from Xur.

Xur’s move this week comes with 62 total statistics.

Antaeus Wards

Antaeus Wards is an exotic from Abandoned expansion. Its main advantage is Reflective vents. When you slide, Antaeus protections project a shield in front of you. Any projectiles that hit the shield reflect back to their owner. Each deflection gives you Super energy. These boots are powerful in the right situation, but recent nerfs keep them average.

Xur’s move this week comes with 59 total statistics.

Vesper of Radius

THE Vesper of Radius it’s a Warlock chest from Curse of Osiris. Its exotic advantage, Planetarium Torrent, causes a shock wave to come out of you when you place your Rift. Your Rift also recharges much faster when you are surrounded by enemies.

All of this looks very cool, but unfortunately Vesper of Radius is overshadowed by so many other Warlock Exotics that it is very difficult to see a situation in which Vesper of Radius is your best piece of chest. Unless you are a collector, ignore it.

Xur’s move this week comes with a total of 63 statistics.

Starting at Beyond the light, Xur has a new search for an Exotic Cipher. Exotic Cipher allows you to buy old exotics at the Monuments To Lost Light kiosk in the tower. You will need these items and some other coins to purchase Exotics like Apparent Heir, Truth and more.

This week, Xur wants you to complete 21 Strikes or win Crucible or Gambit matches. When you finish the mission, you will earn an Exotic Cipher to use as you wish.
