Destiny 2 season 13 changes the setback, adds seasonal challenges

On Bungie’s weekly blog, the studio wrote about some important changes that will occur Destiny 2 in less than two weeks. When the 13th season – probably called the Season of the Chosen, according to some leaks – is released on February 9, PC players will see some major setbacks and all players will have new Seasonal Challenges. Bungie also did a little provocation for season 13 and announced a reveal trailer on February 2.

The largest blog ad affects only a percentage of the player base. Currently, when using a mouse and keyboard, Destiny two players barely retreat when firing a weapon. With the 13th season, Bungie will adjust the difference between the controller, the mouse and the keyboard from 40% to 20%. Mouse players will still have a 20% advantage – since using a mouse is more difficult – but the difference shouldn’t be that big.

This change specifically affects six types of weapons: 3333

  • Automotive Rifle
  • Hand cannon
  • Machine gun
  • Pulse Rifle
  • Scout Rifle
  • Submachine gun

For wrist rifles, submachine guns and machine guns, Bungie is also reducing its recoil and / or camera movement on all platforms.

These changes seem destined to combat the “stability problem” in the PC. Weapon stability statistics change how much a weapon kicks when you fire it, and it has been a completely useless statistic for mouse and keyboard players since Destiny twoPC release in 2017. Although the weapons still don’t work as hard when using the mouse and keyboard, this change should prevent players from throwing away the high stability tests.

The change is also a major cause for concern for PC players, as any change in the feel of the weapon in Destiny can impair the player’s fun. But the assistant director of the game Joe Blackburn secured Polygon the team is monitoring numbers and feedback to ensure that changes are not too extreme.

The other big ad in this blog post is for Seasonal Challenges. Seasonal Challenges are replacing weekly rewards – long rewards that gave big rewards each week and forced players to specific play styles. Unlike Bounties, Seasonal Challenges do not require players to pick up an item from a vendor and are located in the Triumph section at Destiny 2menu.

Every week, Bungie will give players between three and 10 seasonal challenges. These Challenges do not expire until the end of the season, and Bungie will only add them in the first 10 weeks – meaning that players who do not log in until week 10 will have many Seasonal Challenges built to burn. Your goals are similar to weekly rewards, but less restrictive. Some seem to be geared specifically towards new seasonal activities, while others ask players to defeat Guardians in Mayhem or defeat some Fallen in Strikes.

In terms of rewards, these Seasonal Challenges offer XP for the Season Pass, Shining Powder to spend in the Eververse store, special seasonal coins or even “interesting items”. Players can only complete them once per account – that is, those with multiple characters cannot immerse themselves three times in their Seasonal Challenges. Players who complete most of the Seasonal Challenges will also earn 4,000 Glossy Dust bonuses each season.

Because of the new Seasonal Challenge system, Zavala, Drifter and Shaxx will lose their weekly rewards, as will Banshee-44 and the seasonal salesperson for each season. All of these vendors will still offer daily and repeatable rewards that XP offers. And in terms of free-to-play versus season pass holders, only about 60% of Seasonal Challenges are available to free players.

But in the teaser image above, Bungie left some clues about season 13. At the top, we can see the seasonal art, which shows a helmet with pointed ears, some gold weapons and pots of gold. This suggests that we will be dealing with the Cabal empire, as the aesthetics are very similar to both the Season of Opulence and the attack by Leviathan.

All activities around Emperor Calus have been placed in the Destiny Content Vault with Beyond Light – meaning that they are no longer in the game. This leads players to believe that we will be dealing with a different arm from the empire: Caiatl, daughter of Calus. Of course, we should have a better idea of the theme of the season on February 2, when Bungie releases the new trailer.
