Destiny 2 players worried about Bungie’s plans for PC and crossplay console

Bungie worried Destiny 2 community members after publicly targeting changes to the game before the full crossplay was added later this year – possibly signaling that it will merge mouse and keyboard players and controllers into the mix. In the last Bungie blog post, senior community manager dmg04 writes, “This season, we are making some changes aimed at the archetypes of weapons that need some love, as well as starting some preparations for the cross game.”

The main change involves increasing the recoil in certain types of weapons only for mouse and keyboard players, bringing the level of recoil closer to that of the same weapons when used in control.

While it may seem like a relatively small change, the mention that the move is being made with the cross game in mind has prompted community members to wonder if this means that Destiny 2 PvP will make a combination of PC and console players by default, or even as the only option.

It creates long-standing problems for players on all platforms, with the mouse and keyboard being seen as an innate advantage, particularly in snipers (although Destiny 2’s large targeting assistance for controller players complicates this theory somewhat in this case. ). Cheating is also generally more common in PC game versions. Many current crossplay games offer players using the controller the choice to play only with other controller players, but Bungie has not specified the Destiny 2 approach yet.
