Destination 2: Chosen Season Announced, Adds Battlefields Mode, New and Old Attacks and Equipment

Bungie revealed Destiny 2, Season 13, the Season of the Chosen – and gave us a look at what’s to come. Launching on February 9 and running until May 11, the Chosen Season will feature new moves, new gear and a new mode called Battlefields.

Battlegrounds is a combined activity for three players, where players “will engage in ritual combat” against Kabbalah warriors. Old and new blows will also be peppered throughout season 13, with Destiny hitting Devil’s Lair and Fallen SABER returning earlier in the season, and a new blast called Proving Grounds being unlocked later, which will “determine the fate of the Last City.”Players who own the Destiny 2 Season Pass will unlock the Praefectus Armor Set and an Exotic bow called Ticcu’s Divination, which launches solar arrows that can track “multiple targets at once”. More than 25 new weapons will also be added along with the Season Pass additions.

The story of the 13th season revolves around a political feud between Empress Caiatl and Zavala. “With the Pyramids and Xivu Arath destabilizing the system, Empress Caiatl, the leader of Kabbalah and the daughter of Calus, seeks an alliance. But when it demands more than Zavala can offer, the negotiations collapse.” The guardians will battle with Caiatl’s growing war council to stabilize the situation.

In other Destiny 2 news, the community raised concerns about Bungie’s plans for the cross-console and PC game. Bungie recently filed a lawsuit with Riot, targeting cheating companies that allegedly create software hacks for Destiny 2.
