Deshaun Watson removes Texans from social media accounts

Deshaun Watson no longer refers to himself as a member of the Houston Texans. Watson reportedly removed the term “Texans” from his social media pages, while continuing the feud with the team.

Watson’s Twitter and Instagram pages used to refer to Texans, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. On Instagram, Watson is now listed as an “athlete”. Watson also allegedly changed his photo, which was a “photo of the Texans”.

Watson did not completely erase the Texans from his Instagram account. Scroll down and you will see pictures of Watson wearing Texas clothes. The fact that Watson altered his main photo and removed the team’s affiliation in his biography, however, suggests that he is still angry with the Texans.

Deshaun Watson allegedly asked Texans for trade

Watson is at odds with the Texans for several reasons. His frustration with the team reportedly grew after DeAndre Hopkins was switched to Arizona Cardinals last season. The Texans struggled in 2020, ranging from 4 to 12. As a result, the team sacked general manager and head coach Bill O’Brien. Watson hoped to be involved in the search for a new general and technical manager, but was not consulted by the team. He would have asked for an exchange weeks ago, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

New general manager Nick Caserio said on Friday that he has no interest in negotiating with Watson. Coach David Culley repeated those words, saying he joined the Texans because he knew Watson would be on the team.

While the two men expressed optimism that Watson would return, Watson’s actions say the opposite. The changes in Watson’s social media are yet another sign that his relationship with Texans is probably irreparable.
