Receiver DeSean Jackson has a new home in the NFL in his hometown.

Jackson has agreed to the terms with the Rams on a one-year contract. The team announced the move on Sunday night.

Jackson, 34, was chosen for the Eagles’ second round in 2008. He spent six seasons with the Eagles, three in Washington, two in Tampa and two more in Philadelphia.

Jackson worked with Rams coach Sean McVay during Jackson’s time in Washington.

Jackson instantly gives Rams a deep threat to quarterback Matthew Stafford, one that will smooth out the crossing routes and areas below where Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp work best. The biggest issue with Jackson is age and health. He lost 11 games in 2020 and 13 games in 2019.

If healthy, it makes a difference. Assuming the price is right, it is a prudent risk for a Rams team that will have few draft options, thanks to its propensity to negotiate them.
