Deschutes County will receive 3,710 first-dose COVID-19 vaccines next week

More than 4,800 will receive second doses at the mass vaccination clinic

BEND, Oregon. (KTVZ) – The Oregon Health Authority allocated 3,710 first-dose vaccines of COVID-19 to Deschutes County for the week of March 15. There are 200 more doses than are available for clinics this week, officials said on Friday.

At 9am on Monday, the schedule for vaccination appointments at the Deschutes Fair & Expo Center mass vaccination clinic will be open online and by phone for people over 65.

To schedule a vaccine appointment for adults aged 65 and over:

  • If you don’t have access to a computer or don’t have someone who can help you sign up for an online appointment, call 541-699-5109. The team is available from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9 am to 1 pm, from Saturday to Sunday. Be prepared to wait on hold or return the call, as the volume of calls on this line is high.

Those who qualify as Phase 1a or Phase 1b, Group 1 must submit a certificate form on the St. Charles Health System website. The team will contact eligible individuals to schedule their vaccination appointment when vaccines are available. It can take several weeks for appointments to be scheduled, but you only need to fill out the form once.

To date, the Oregon Health Authority reports that 62% of Deschutes County residents age 65 and older have received at least their first COVID-19 vaccine. This includes 82% of people aged 80 and over, 87% of people aged 75-79, 67% of people aged 70-74 and 41% of people aged 65-69.

Availability of vaccines for retail pharmacies

Some retail pharmacies in central Oregon are offering the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible groups through the Federal COVID-19 Federal Pharmacy Pharmacy Program. There will not be enough vaccines to vaccinate all eligible Oregonians in these locations due to limited supply. The availability of appointments changes frequently. Appointments may be available by visiting https://vaccinefinder.org.

Bi-Mart pharmacies in central Oregon will offer limited consultations to eligible residents. For information on appointments and scheduling, visit the Bi-Mart scheduling portal.
