Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis on Thursday rejected White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s “completely hidden” suggestion that the state’s effort to distribute the state’s COVID-19 vaccine is delayed.
Florida became the first US state to vaccinate one million elderly people, but Psaki was quick to dismiss the milestone, telling reporters at a news conference on Tuesday that “they distributed only about 50% of the vaccines they received . “

DeSantis stated in an appearance on “Fox News Primetime” that the state’s vaccine supply is almost depleted, telling presenter Maria Bartiromo that “we can probably do two to three times what we are doing” if the Biden administration provided them with ample number of doses.
“I can tell you, every first dose comes in, we can tear it up in a week and then a little bit, no problem,” he said. “We can probably do two to three times what we are doing. Everything we were saying [is] once you have these things you are saying you will, [like] put federal resources and create your own websites … not really necessary and I think a lot of Democratic governors agree with me. “
PSAKI RETURNS BIDEN’S COMMENTS ON THE COVID-19 VACCINE
“Just give us more offers of the vaccine, because we were originally promised more up to this point,” he added. “I can take the elderly’s arms if we can only get more from the remittances.”
DeSantis said Psaki’s comments were “untrue” because the unused doses she referred to have already been reserved for elderly people awaiting their second dose.
“What she said is that they only administered 54%, but what she did not say is that those that were not administered will be administered on the spot because it is the second dose for people,” he explained.

“So, the suggestion she was trying to make is that Florida should give second doses to people who are not coming for the second dose. Our elderly population wants to receive the second dose. You will see these second doses in Florida really increased because people are scheduled for that.
“But,” he added, “we are not going to waste these second doses.”
