“To think about doing any kind of blockade, honestly, is crazy,” DeSantis said during a Florida news conference, praising the state’s efforts to administer vaccines to the elderly and other populations.
“This is not going to happen in the state of Florida,” continued the governor, referring to the restoration of restrictions. “We will continue to do what works, but under no circumstances will we entertain anything like that.”
Biden has repeatedly vowed not to block the country, but warned in a prime-time speech on Thursday night that some restrictions may have to be revised if current downward trends change and the virus reappears.
He emphasized, however, that his government is focused on helping the country get back to normal.
“Even if we dedicate all the resources we have, to beat this virus and return to normal depends on national unity,” said Biden. “And national unity is not just how politicians and politicians vote in Washington, what the loudest voices say on cable or online. Unity is what we do as American citizens. Because if we don’t say vigilant and conditions change, we may have to reestablish restrictions to get back on track. “

Biden spent much of his speech discussing government pressure to increase the production and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and publicizing his newly signed $ 1.9 trillion aid account.
“Biden said last night that they may have to impose more lockdown policies in the future. I can tell you, this is not happening in Florida. We are not going to let him block Florida,” said DeSantis on Friday.
