Denzel Washington almost cries after hearing praise from son John David: ‘I’m speechless’
Denzel Washington, twice an Oscar winner, was teary-eyed when talking about his eldest son, John David, in a rare display of public emotion on Sunday.
It came after the New York Times called the legendary 66-year-old man ‘the greatest actor of the 21st century’ in November.
“It was about time,” 36-year-old action star Tenet told Access Hollywood last month.

Upon hearing John David’s praise, Denzel said to the same channel: ‘Wow. I’m speechless. I forgot what the question was, but I’m at a loss for words. You know, I didn’t know that he said that.
The former NFL running back is clearly following in Washington’s footsteps, having won a Golden Globe nomination in 2019 for his role in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman.

Incidentally, Denzel’s 29-year-old daughter marked the role of Amy Anders in her next film, The Little Things.
Washington is also the father of daughter Katia, 33, and son Malcolm, 29, from his 37-year marriage to Pauletta Pearson.
The actor couple originally met on the 1977 set of the NBC film Wilma, and renewed their vows at a ceremony held in 1995 by anti-apartheid activist Desmond Tutu in South Africa.

John Lee Hancock’s serial killer thriller also stars Oscar-winning duo Rami Malek and Jared Leto.
Washington has also been working hard to direct Michael B. Jordan in the drama of his absent father, Journal for Jordan, for Sony Pictures.
