Denzel Ward is one of Cleveland’s two best defensive players and will be back this week for the team’s division round with the Chiefs.

“I was very sick,” said Ward, through Nate Ulrich of Akron Beacon Journal. “Just flu symptoms, the whole body hurts and chills and things like that. I was fine at my home. “
Ward noted that he was surprised by the test result, as he usually wears a mask.
“It was a little rough. I lost my sense of smell and my taste, so that was really different, ”said Ward. “All the food tasted the same. I was just choosing food for its texture, because I really couldn’t taste it. It wasn’t great. I am happy to have overcome this and hope that everyone will continue to stay safe and wear a mask and try to beat it. “
In his third season outside Ohio, Ward had two interceptions, 18 defending passes and a forced fumble in 12 games this season.
