Denver Broncos agrees to terms with cornerback Kyle Fuller

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Denver Broncos agreed to a deal with former Chicago Bears Pro Bowl cornerback Kyle Fuller on a one-year deal for $ 9.5 million.

Fuller is meeting with Broncos coach Vic Fangio, who was Bears ‘defensive coordinator a few years ago, and Ed Donatell, who was Bears’ secondary coach.

He is a 5 to 11 and 194 pound cornerback who has played all his seven seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bears. During these seven seasons, Fuller totaled 377 tackles, 82 passing deflections and 19 interceptions. Last season, Fuller totaled 62 tackles, 8 pass deflections and 1 interception.

The addition of Fuller, who is a legitimate number one corner, and pairing him recently hired Ronald Darby from the outside with Bryce Callahan focusing more on the slot machine could give the Broncos a great secondary in 2021. Add a healthy Von Miller paired with Pro Bowler Bradley Chubb and the Broncos can easily have a defense in the top five under Vic Fangio.

Just look at the percentage of passes that Fuller granted during his time in the NFL. Last season for Bears, he allowed 53.7% of his goals to be met and his career average is 52.3%. He also allowed only 3 or more touchdowns once in his career and that was his debut season, when he allowed 4 touchdown passes. So, it has been a very good corner and is an excellent addition to the Broncos’ secondary.

This addition also makes the Broncos’ 9th overall selection very interesting now. Before the start of the free agency, you had cornerbacks Patrick Surtain or Caleb Farley mocked for the Broncos. Now, with Fuller and Darby signed during the opening of the free agency, this significantly decreases the chances of the Broncos going into the corner in the first round of the draft.
