If you liked Demon’s Souls‘updated the score on PlayStation 5 and wants to hear it in high fidelity, you’re in luck: Sony and Milan Records are partnering to produce a two-disc vinyl set with 21 tracks from the remastered classic for release on June 18

As you can see in the gallery below, the Demon’s Souls vinyl comes in various shades and patterns, depending on where you pre-order. But no matter the variant, the whole packaging is very beautiful, with original art by the Australian designer Ken Taylor.

I wrote about how much I loved the use of silence on the original soundtrack, but the arranged score for the PlayStation 5 remake is certainly useful. While I especially liked the decisions of Bill Hemstapat and Jim Fowler when rearranging and orchestrating Shunsuke Kida’s original PlayStation 3 compositions, I would say that je ne sais quoi was lost in the transition.

I’ve been playing around with the idea of buying a record player for some time now, so it might just push me to the edge of the modern world.
