Demon Slayer Hinokami Kepputan will introduce Tanjiro and Nezuko

Aniplex and CyberConnect2 published new Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan screenshots of the Kamado brothers – Tanjiro and Nezuko – as the first two playable characters available in the game’s Versus mode. [Thanks, PlayStation.Blog Japan!]

The movements of the characters in this future arena fighter will be faithfully based on their representations of manga and anime. Tanjiro will use water-based attacks he learned from Sakonji, while Nezuko will unleash his demonic powers.

CyberConnect2 also revealed main character visuals for Tanjiro and Nezuko. Although it is difficult to believe that they were not drawn manually at first. The characters and effects in the main visuals were actually made with 3D models.

Aniplex has uploaded trailers of personal characters from Tanjiro and Nezuko on its YouTube channel. However, the entire channel is blocked by region only for Japan. On February 14, 2021, the first live game footage of Hinokami KepputanVersus Mode was shown in Demon slayer Anime program for the second anniversary of Abema TV. Unfortunately, this was also restricted to the region of Japan. Recordings of the footage were made available to watch anywhere in the world. The footage confirmed not only Tanjiro and Nezuko, but also Zenitsu, Inosuke and Giyu on the list of players.

Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC in 2021. The game is being developed by CyberConnect2, who also previously worked on Naruto: Ultimate Ninja games.
