Demi Lovato he was just minutes away from taking his last breath … a terrifying realization that ended up helping the singer in her recovery from the overdose that almost killed her.
Demi recently sat down with Tracy Smith for CBS Sunday Morning News, in a preview released on Friday, she says she was only 5 to 10 minutes old if she had not been found by someone in her home after her 2018 overdose.
Smith, who also sat with Demi in 2016 after she struggled with addiction, asks the singer what has changed this time with Demi’s recovery … the singer says, “I essentially had to die to wake up.” Demi says that after her scare in 2016 she was “sober, but still miserable”.

Of course, the interview comes shortly after the release of Demi’s documentary “Dancing with the Devil”, where she makes several impressive revelations.
Among them … she says she was raped like a teenager when she was part of the Disney family and reveals that she was declared legally blind after her OD with heroin 2018. The singer still can’t drive because of the blind spots she suffers from the night that almost killed her.
