Demi Lovato to star in the NBC comedy Put Pilot ‘Hungry’

Demi Lovato will star in a single camera comedy series that got a pilot order on NBC.

The project is entitled “Hungry”. It follows friends who belong to a group of food issues while helping each other to look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that will make everything better.

Lovato will serve as executive producer and star. The series comes from writer and executive producer Suzanne Martin, who won two Emmy awards during her time as a screenwriter and producer on “Frasier”. Most recently, she wrote and executive produced the “Will & Grace” revival on NBC. “Will & Grace” star Sean Hayes will also serve as executive producer along with Todd Milliner via Hazy Mills. Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson of SB Projects will also serve as executive producers. Universal Television will produce. Martin and Hazy Mills are currently in general negotiations at the studio.

“Hungry” is the most recent project that Hazy Mills and Martin collaborated on. Others include “Hot in Cleveland”, “The Soul Man” and “Crowded”.

Lovato is a talented actress, as well as being a world renowned singer / songwriter. She got her lead role in the original Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock” and its sequels. She also appeared in several episodes of the “Will & Grace” revival, as well as on shows like “Grey’s Anatomy”, “From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series” and “Glee”.

As a singer, she has released six studio albums to date, the most recent being “Tell Me You Love Me” in 2017. She also has several gold and platinum singles to her name, including the title track “Tell Me You Love Me. “She was one of the top performers in the primetime special in honor of the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris last week.

She is represented by WME, SB Projects and Schreck Rose.
