Demi Lovato reveals she had multiple strokes, brain damage after overdose

The trailer for “Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil” shows Lovato’s journey before and after her near-fatal overdose in 2018 and reveals that the singer suffered multiple strokes and a heart attack.

“My doctors said I had another five to ten minutes,” she says in the documentary, talking about the incident.

In a press conference on Wednesday as part of the Television Critics Association press tour, Lovato said he was still dealing with the aftermath of his medical emergency.

“I had brain damage and I still deal with the effects of it today. I don’t drive a car because there are blind spots in my vision. I also had a hard time reading,” she said. “I feel like they are still there to remind me of what could happen if I ever went into a dark place again.”

She added: “I am grateful for these reminders, but I am also very grateful that it was someone who did not have to do a lot of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation came from the emotional and the therapeutic side, internally. I worked a lot after that – but not physically. ”

According to YouTube, the documentary is “an intimate portrait of addiction” and “the healing and strengthening process”.

“Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil” opens on March 23 on YouTube.
