Demi Lovato admits she was between five to 10 minutes of death when she found out after a 2018 overdose

Demi Lovato revealed that her 2018 overdose was more serious than anyone could imagine.

The 28-year-old singer explained to CBS Sunday Morning that she was only minutes away from death when she was found on that fateful night.

“The doctors told me that I had five to 10 minutes and … like, if no one had found me, then I wouldn’t be here,” she said in a clip released Friday.

“The doctors told me I had five to 10 minutes and … like, if no one had found me, then I wouldn’t be here,” the 28-year-old singer told correspondent Tracy Smith in a clip released Friday.

“And I am grateful to be sitting here today,” she told correspondent Tracy Smith.

Demi was open about her long battle with substance abuse and her difficulty taking control of her life, saying she ‘had to die to essentially wake up’.

She explained in the conversation that she is now in a much better place: ‘I feel good … I feel more joy in my life than I ever did because [I’m not] calming or diminishing any part of me. ‘

The Skyscraper artist was hospitalized for an overdose of heroin mixed with the dangerous sedative fentanyl in July 2018, after a night of partying.

Lovato admitted that the traumatic event left her legally blind and is still dealing with hearing loss, tinnitus and blind spots in her vision.

The musician made this revelation in her new documentary Dancing with the Devil, which premiered Tuesday at the SXSW Film Festival.

She said in the document that the doctor said she was unable to see her sister during a bed visit after her overdose, TMZ reported.

‘It was interesting how quickly I adapted. ‘I didn’t give myself time to really be sad about it. I just thought, ‘How do I fix this?’, She said according to the publication.

In a preview of the documentary released last month, Lovato said that after her June 2018 overdose at her Los Angeles home, she had a heart attack and three strokes.

Demi admitted to CBS that the relapse came after a period of profound unhappiness: ‘I have been sober for many years, but I am still miserable.’

‘I did not control anything in my life at that time. But yes, I also needed to grow and take control.

‘And this is something I haven’t done until the last two years of my life, which is [why] I am now in control of my finances. Now I’m in control … of the food I eat, how often I work out, ‘she said to Smith.
