Dear Evan Hansen fans could be found in theaters already this year. Variety reports that Universal’s next film adaptation of Tony’s winning musical will hit theaters on September 24.
The eagerly awaited cast Dear Evan Hansen The film will include Tony Ben Platt winner in the title role, Oscar winner Julianne Moore as Heidi Hansen, six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams as Cynthia Murphy, Danny Pino as Larry Murphy, Colton Ryan as Connor Murphy, Nik Dodani like Jared Kleinman, Amandla Stenberg like Alana Beck, Kaitlyn Dever like Zoe Murphy and West Side Story the protagonist Isaac Powell as the athlete of the college Rhys.
Still a hit at the Music Box Theater at the time of Broadway closing, Tony’s winning musical Dear Evan Hansen features a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Filmmaker Stephen Chbosky will direct, with Levenson writing the script.
