When put in the worst of situations, Deadpool has just proved that there are no limits he would go to save his life.
WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Deadpool # 10 by Kelly Thompson, Gerardo Sandoval, Victor Nava, Chris Sotomayor and Joe Sabino from VC, on sale now.
Deadpool is, for want of a better word, unpredictable. How he would react to a complete and total takeover of the planet by an evil older than time itself is up for debate, but how he would handle things if he threatened his Monster Island home and kingdom is certain. This reaction is obviously violent. Merc with a Mouth is more than willing to put itself in danger to protect the people and definitely not the people it loves and dominates from the King of Black.

The fact that he is effectively impossible to kill reinforces the positive attitude that Deadpool almost always exhibits. When it comes to harming himself to protect the same humans and monsters, he is ready to go the extra mile, even if it costs him an arm or a leg.
Knull’s invasion ended almost as soon as it started. The army of symbiotic dragons that descended on Earth was apparently infinite, and once they covered the landscape, they formed a dome around the planet’s atmosphere to ensure that there was no escape. Now that the fight has reached its little corner of the globe, Deadpool has assembled the best team of symbiote killers Monster Island has to offer and led them into battle. As the group fires and pushes its way through the dragon hordes, it is clear that not everyone is adequately equipped to deal with this particular attack. Jeff, the Landshark, can only sink his teeth into one of the beasts, which unfortunately leaves his face covered in dark darkness. After being overwhelmed by the symbiotic sludge, Jeff turns his attention to Deadpool, and when the rows of shark’s sharp teeth sink into his arm, Deadpool already knows what’s going to happen to him if he doesn’t act fast.
The decision to amputate is not an easy one, but the precedent in the face of real-world horrors like gangrene was established a long, long time ago. There is also the trope of black terror from playing to laughing in films, including The evil dead and Dead snow, although both examples have mixed results. Removing a member to prevent a symbiote from attaching to someone is still an unexpected and drastic measure within the context of the Marvel Universe, but if someone is going to do that, it may well be someone who admittedly blew himself up just a week earlier and he recovered better than ever when reduced to just one head.
It is a bloody and horrible act, and it works like a charm. With his arm no longer stuck and the risk of being infected back to zero, Deadpool is ready to return to the fight with just his left hand. Fortunately, he has his friends and fellow freedom fighters to help him, as long as it’s not the one he just cut, and together they are able to defeat the symbiote dragon, even if they don’t do it in the same explosive way. that others employed. Still, Deadpool proved it again because he is so good at what he does, even if he has to do it himself every now and then.
