De Blasio under fire for dancing in deserted Times Square

New York City dropped the ball again on New Year’s Eve, but perhaps not as much as its mayor, Bill de Blasio.

Critics are attacking the Big Apple leader for dancing on national television, while the rest of the city has been instructed to remain in and socially distant during the coronavirus pandemic.

Against the backdrop of an almost empty Times Square, Blasio and his wife, Chirlane McCray, danced together on stage at the famous landmark. It is usually packed with people doing the same on New Year’s Eve.

“The View” co-host Meghan McCain tweeted, “You were always basically the worst politician in modern history – but closing New York City, but having your own private party in Times Square is really * chef kisses. * the deafest thing I may have ever seen a mayor do. Everyone hates you, DeBlasio. “

Television personality Andy Cohen, who was hosting a New Year’s Eve program on CNN with Anderson Cooper, attacked Blasio on television.

Cooper took a sip and started to choke, apparently disgusted by the taste.

“That’s how I felt when I saw Mayor De Blasio dancing now,” said Cohen. “I just don’t need to see this in the beginning of 2021.”

Cohen was then visibly angry, extending his arms and shouting, “Do something with this city! Honestly, get it right!”

A representative for de Blasio said the incident was: “It is not the first time I have heard a drunk complain about someone’s dance moves.”
