DC Mayor proclaims on Thursday ‘Dr. Anthony S. Fauci ‘Day in honor of his 80th birthday

Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser proclaimed Thursday “Dr. Anthony S. Fauci’s Day” in the nation’s capital in honor of the country’s 80th infectious disease specialist.

Of the mayor proclamation says that Dr. Fauci has served as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, where “he worked to promote public health and led efforts to prevent, diagnose and treat established infectious diseases”.

Fauci advised six presidents and is currently the lead voice for the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

“We are extremely proud to have Dr. Fauci among the many DC residents who are sacrificing so much to keep our communities healthy and safe,” Bowser tweeted on Wednesday.

Fauci and his wife, Christine, have called DC their home since 1977, according to the proclamation.

For the next Biden government, Fauci will act as chief medical advisor.
