‘DC is dissolved’: Trump supporters freak out because they can’t read Google Maps properly

Qanon’s followers are convinced that Washington, DC was “dissolved” before the alleged reopening of former President Donald Trump.

Some conspiracy theorists believe that the ex-president will be restored to power on Thursday, the date of March 4, which was the day of inauguration until the 20th amendment was passed in 1933 and set that date as January 20, and they are pointing to the absence of “DC” on Google and Apple maps to support their claims, Newsweek reported.

“Did the maps always say only Washington?” said the popular Qanon conspirator @GhostEzra in the Telegram encrypted messaging app. “Did you think it said Washington DC?”

Google does not label the country’s capital with DC, but identifies the District of Columbia on state borders.

“I just searched Washington DC on my Apple Maps iPhone and it just shows Washington, DC. That’s the same for Google maps and mapquest,” replied a follower. “DC is dissolved.”

Trump supporters complained that Google and Apple maps were not providing guidance to Washington prior to the January 6 “Stop The Steal” protest, which turned into a deadly uprising, but independent fact checkers belied these claims.
