David Perdue files for 2022 executed against Raphael Warnock

Former Republican Georgia senator David Perdue on Monday ran for election in 2022 against Democratic senator Raphael Warnock.

Warnock defeated Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler, who was nominated in a run-off election on January 5 to fill the remainder of a vacant six-year term.

Perdue lost his second round of elections on January 5 against Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff, who will not face re-election until 2026.

Perdue’s loss rocked the Senate balance for Democrats. The 50-50 Senate is led by Democrats with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking ties.

The former senator asked for re-election to the Federal Election Commission, but did not post a statement on Twitter late on Monday. Your old campaign website is down.

Perdue served a single term in the Senate and lost his re-election amid the bitter consequences of the November 3 election.

President Biden narrowly defeated Georgia, but former President Donald Trump said it was the result of fraud and criticized the governor and secretary of state for the Republican Party.

Perdue, 71, is a former outsourcing specialist and former CEO of Dollar General. His cousin, Sonny Perdue, is a former Georgia governor who served as Trump’s agriculture secretary.
