David Lynch deceived fans after promising a big “announcement” today (February 1st).
The cult director posted a series of daily weather reports on his YouTube channel over the past year, although the last one at the end of last month left fans intrigued.
“Not today, but tomorrow I will have an announcement to make,” he declared on January 31, leading many to believe that he would confirm a fourth series of Twin Peaks or a new project.
However, it seems that Lynch was pulling the fans’ fingers, as he confirmed that he should actually announce a break in his weather report – but the enthusiasm of the fans made him decide to continue.
“Good morning, it’s February 1, 2021 and it’s a Monday,” began the director. “This is a day when I was going to announce that I would take a break from the weather forecast and choosing the day number.
“But then I read yesterday’s comments and I realized once again what a great group you are, who subscribe to or visit the David Lynch Theater. You are so thoughtful and kind, and I am so grateful that there are people like you in this world.
“So, let’s continue, and I wish, no matter the weather, I wish you all blue skies and golden sun internally along the way. Everyone have a great day. “
Although Lynch has not made a feature film since Inner empire in 2006, the director has been busy in recent years with the third season of Twin Peaks in 2017 and short film What did Jack do? in 2019.
However, reports have recently surfaced that he was working on a Netflix series with the working title of Wisteria, with production supposed to start in May.
Lynch also revealed a few months ago that he would probably be working on a new film if it weren’t for the coronavirus pandemic.
