Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said last week that winning the NFL MVP award for the third time was important to him and he did his best on Sunday to ensure he won the award.
Rodgers made 19 from 24 to 240 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-16 win that secured first place in the NFC for Green Bay. He ended the season with a record 48 touchdown passes, which also led the league this season . He was also first in percentage of completion and passer rating.
After the game, wide receiver Davante Adams ran a short advertisement for his teammate and said “it is very clear to me” that he is the most valuable player in the league.
“The MVP must be blocked,” said Adams, via the team’s website. “There is nothing more to say. You look at what we did and what he was able to do, and they hit him hard. [They] said he had no weapon, and we go there and go to the regular 13-3 season, which is not our main goal, obviously, but it is a great achievement, especially when you are in your second year with a new team. “
Adams has a dog on the hunt, but it was hard to make a strong case against Rodgers for MVP in the final weeks of the regular season.
