Daughter of Lombardi Trophy designer wants apology from Tom Brady

The launch of Tom Brady’s Lombardi Trophy boat, which went viral on Wednesday, was not well received by a woman from Fort Myers, Florida, who said the launch was an insult to her family’s legacy.

“I was very upset that this trophy was dishonored and disrespected for being played like a real football,” Lorraine Grohs told Fox4.

During the Buccaneers’ boat parade on the Hillsborough River to celebrate Tampa Bay’s victory in the Super Bowl 2021 over the Chiefs, the 43-year-old quarterback threw the Lombardi Trophy from his yacht to someone on another boat.

This angered Grohs, who is the daughter of Greg Grohs, the silver master of Tiffany and Company from 1967 to 1994, who designed the first Vince Lombardi Trophy.

She said the seven-time Super Bowl champion disrespected the trophy and the people who work on it.

“I have a great history with this trophy being made by my father and it is an honor and I know all the craftsmen who did it when my father was there at Tiffany’s too and that requires a lot of hard work,” said Grohs.

Now, Grohs wants Brady to apologize.

“I personally would like an apology, not just for me and my family and the other goldsmiths, but for the fans, all the football fans and the other players on the team,” she said.

Groh told the network that the launch of Brady’s trophy made her so upset that she spent sleepless nights over the fact that he treated the passion her father put in the trophy so lightly.

“I saw this trophy being made at Tiffany’s factory and it is a beautiful trophy,” said Grohs. “My father had to carve the seams. He had to carve the seams by hand. There is a newspaper article that shows him working on that trophy. The ball is made by hand and the base too. ”Grohs explained.

Grohs, who said he is not a big football fan, always waits for the end of the Super Bowl to attend the Lombardi Trophy celebration that goes to the Super Bowl winner.

“I only watch the game to see the trophy come out,” she said. “I like to see all the owners and football players holding it with such pride and showing it to everyone and I get goosebumps. … Like, now I’m getting goosebumps. “

Brady also attracted more attention when he needed the help of an escort to walk as he returned to land after the parade of drunken boats.

But it looks like Brady has finished his party and is ready to go back to work.

On Saturday, he returned to training with coach Alex Guerrero, according to a photo posted by TB12 Sports on Twitter. It included the hashtag # EyesOn8.
