Perhaps the most controversial playoff of this year’s playoffs came when Chiefs’ safety Daniel Sorensen forced Browns receiver Rashard Higgins to fumble in the end zone with an unsigned helmet-to-helmet strike.

Sorensen was also not fined for the coup, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

A fine would be a tacit acknowledgment that the officers were wrong to not throw the flag. A penalty would have been a big bet. That would have given Cleveland the first goal on the 1-yard line. Instead, Kansas City caught the ball at the 20-yard line after the ball left the field in the end zone.

With the first and the goal, Cleveland probably would have scored seven points. Instead, the Browns lost the game by five points. To make matters worse, the Chiefs entered the field for a field goal shortly before the break. This was one of the most important pieces of the year.
