There’s “Jeopardy!” found your new host?
After Alex Trebek’s death in November, the famous competitor Ken Jennings took over as a guest host for a period of six weeks. When Jennings’ time as a host came to an end, a new interim host took over as the show’s executive producer, Mike Richards.
Appearing on the popular game show, the 45-year-old man quickly won the hearts of “Jeopardy!” fans with his charming personality, warm voice and impeccable charisma – leading to an online demonstration of support, with many calling to make Richards the permanent host of the program.
“Mike Richards is A + so far. Super palatable, just the right amount of jokes, without trying to get under the spotlight,” a Twitter user wrote. “Keep it up!”

“I like this guy, Mike Richards, as a host of Jeopardy,” said another user. “It’s not arrogant or disturbing, and perfectly pleasant. It should be nice to see you get more comfortable and test the water in the next few days. Thinking that maybe a relative stranger can be a decent lock.”

“Please keep Mike Richards on @Jeopardy forever. He’s confident, charming and pleasing to the eye,” said one user said. “No one is going to replace Alex, but Mike is the second best option.”
“My vote is for Mike Richards as the new @Jeopardy host! What an amazing job,” a user simply wrote.
In an interview with USA Today, Richards revealed that he did not know about the “Jeopardy!” performing “up to three days before” filming.

“I didn’t know I would do it until three days earlier, so I didn’t prepare to be the host the way I know other guest hosts are,” Richards said in the interview. “So, there was a lot to unpack.”
“Besides, I also had just one suit, so there was a bit of a mess there,” the host remarked with humor. “It was a lot of fun; humiliating or even starting to describe the feeling. It hit me like a ton of bricks when Johnny Gilbert announced my name. Of course, the last thing you hear when you start to leave. … and it was overwhelming at the time. “
Richards, who also served as executive producer on “The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal”, is a veteran of the games industry. Along with his production credits, Richards presented game shows like “The Pyramid” and “Divided” by GSN.
