“Danger!” promised that “something crazy” would happen during “Final Jeopardy!” And the game show did not disappoint.
Sixth episode of “Jeopardy!” ended in a rare two-way tie between contestants Jack Weller and Brian Chang, the three-day champion who returned.
“In all the years I watched #Jeopardy, I don’t remember ever seeing a tie,” tweeted user @ meghansmith55.
Both contestants went to the Final Jeopardy for $ 18,800.
“A lot depends on that final category … a very important ‘Final Jeopardy’ coming up in the ‘statues’ category,” said Ken Jennings, the guest host who took over after Alex Trebek’s death in November at the age of 80, of pancreatic cancer.

The question: “Statues honoring this man who was killed in 1779 can be found in Waimea, Kauai and Whitby, England.”
Weller and Chang guessed correctly: “Who is Cook?” And both contestants bet everything they had, resulting in $ 37,600 and a tie.
To determine the champion, the two contestants faced off during a tiebreaker in which the winner takes it all with a question about “History”: “In October 1961, Stalin’s body was removed from the display at this other man’s grave.”
Chang appeared first with the correct answer from “Lenin”.
“Brian Chang, you just won $ 37,600 and it’s our fourth ‘Jeopardy!’ Champion with a total of $ 88,102, “said Jennings. “What a fantastic game.”
Weller won a $ 2,000 consolation prize for his second place.
Viewer @EmersonLotzia referred for the tiebreaker as “one of the most rare and intense shows in the competition”. The tiebreaker happened for the last time during a normal game, outside the tournament, on March 1, 2018.
