MADISON, Wisconsin – Public health officials in Madison and Dane County are changing requirements when it comes to coverage and social distance for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Changes to Emergency Order # 14 take effect on Thursday and follow new guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

People who are fully vaccinated do not need to maintain a physical distance of 1.80 meters or use a facial cover:

  • When in an enclosed space where all people in the enclosed space are fully vaccinated
  • When in an enclosed space with people from the same household who are not fully vaccinated and are not at increased risk for serious COVID-19 disease.

People are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 when it has been two weeks since they received the final vaccination.

Fully vaccinated individuals must follow all other aspects of the public health order while in a public space. You can read more about the current order here.
