In news that will excite two different types of nerds at the same time, Fox today announced that Dan Harmon is developing an animated comedy series “set in mythical ancient Greece”. The untitled series is part of a larger animation deal Harmon made with Fox last year, and will center on a family of humans, gods and monsters trying to rule one of the world’s first cities without killing each other. “Let Dan Harmon turn the myths of Greek civilization into remarkably sharp comments about today’s politics, celebrities and pop culture,” Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn said in the press release. It will be the Rick and Morty creator being able to make an animated comedy set in the mythical ancient Greece that can surpass the champion of the genre, Disney’s Hercules? We’ll know when the program opens in 2022.
