Damontae Kazee to visit Lions next week

Free agent security Damontae Kazee has a visit aligned with the Cowboys, and Lions are also interested. By veteran NFL reporter Josina Anderson, Kazee will visit the Detroit bosses in no time.

A choice of the fifth round of the Falcons in 2017, Kazee launched a revolutionary campaign in 2018 to the aid of an injured Keanu Neal (who signed with the Cowboys on Saturday). That season, Kazee intercepted the NFL’s seven best passes and posted 10 passes saved in 16 games (15 games). He started 14 games in 2019, adding three more choices to his career record.

Unfortunately, a torn Achilles ended its 2020 season after just four games, which means it may be forced to accept a one-year pact this year in an effort to restore its value (even if it is must be released clinically by the training field). Lions will return in the third round of 2018 Tracy Walker and 2019 third round Will Harris, but Kazee’s ball-hunting skills would be a welcome addition to that young security group.

Even though Neal is now in Dallas, he is expected to play with a linebacker and also with a safety, which means that Kazee would still fit in the team’s defense. The opportunity to meet with Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn – Kazee’s head coach in Atlanta – can influence Kazee in favor of Dallas if he believes there is enough pressure for everyone, but he will hear Detroit’s pitch the same way.
