“Is there a jojo siwa dababy steak that I don’t know?” asked another.
He shared a third: “Just when you thought life couldn’t get any stranger, Dababy despises Jojo Siwa.”
As uncomfortable as the lyrics may be, some fans tried to guess why the rapper would leave out a sentence about an artist more than 10 years younger.
“I feel like he just said Jojo siwa as he rhymed,” one person meditated on YouTube.
He added another: “He was not casting a shadow on Jojo … it clearly shows that he was using her surname as in ‘see why’ instead of ‘Siwa’.”
Some thought DaBaby used the teen star’s name to start a controversy. “The Jojo line did exactly what DaBaby and other people involved in his field wanted,” wrote one person. “Create controversy and generate opinions.” Another on Twitter agreed, commenting on DaBaby’s post: “He played this jojo line because he knew it would make people talk. Just smart business moves”
If the line’s intention was really to get the rapper’s attention and his free style, it worked. DaBaby became a trending topic on Twitter and Google over the weekend.
Regardless of your reasoning for mentioning Siwa in his freestyle, not all of his followers are impressed by this.
“Other rappers fighting with snipers and killers while DaBaby fighting with Jojo Siwa,” wrote one person on YouTube.
“That jojo siwa phrase was terrible,” said another.
