Cyberpunk 2077 prohibits unauthorized sex with Keanu Reeves

Cyberpunk 2077 creator CD Projekt Red would like modders to stop making Keanu Reeves a sex object. Following a fan mod that allowed players to have sex with Reeves’ character Johnny Silverhand, the developer said PC Gamer This one user-generated content cannot be “harmful to others” – especially when it comes to mods. “In the case of model changes, especially those involving explicit situations, it can be perceived as such by the people who lent us their appearance for the purpose of creating characters in Cyberpunk 2077,”Said the developer.

It is important to note that Reeves’ character has a sex scene within the game, although it unfolds from his perspective. Like Johnny, the player has sex with a blonde woman who inexplicably pours good drink into her white blouse for a background of guitar riffs, while Johnny shakes her.

Eurogamer first reported on the Nexus Mods files that swapped a model of the sex worker’s “joytoy” character for Johnny de Reeves. In the mod, Johnny – who remains dressed – is now the sexualized character seen through the eyes of the players. He also uses the joytoy voice throughout the brief scene.

It is common for players to personalize their experience through mods, and the Cyberpunk community has been doing this since the game’s release. CD Projekt Red has just released official modding tools. However, the mod – which has since been hidden by the creator on Nexus Mods – crosses that border.

“For the characters we invented for the game, we widely allow you to adjust the game at will and just have fun,” said CD Projekt Red PC Gamer. “When it comes to models of real people we ask to participate in the game, we kindly ask you to avoid using them in any situation that could be considered offensive if you do not have your explicit permission.”
