Cyberpunk 2077 players are being haunted by a ghost

Cyberpunk 2077 players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC and Google Stadia are being haunted by a ghost, but not because there is a ghost that chases players in the open world RPG, but because of a bug. It’s been a minute since the last Cyberpunk 2077 update released, which means that there are now a variety of bugs affecting the game for weeks. For example, Adam Smasher’s ghost is following the players and appearing at random times to scare the chicken Bojangles out of them.

In recent weeks, players have started to report the bug, but many assumed it was just a myth, until recently. Taking to Reddit, a player confirmed that the bug is real with a video showing Adam Smasher hunting them down.

At the moment, it is unclear what triggers this bug, what platforms it is and is not bothering and how prevalent it is. It is also unclear how to avoid it and whether there is a solution for it.

At the time of publication, CD Projekt Red did not officially fix the bug. If that changes, we’ll be sure to update the story. And, of course, if more information about the bug itself appears, we will also give you an update of the history with that information.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Google Stadia, and at the moment it’s still a mess, no matter what platform you’re playing on, but it’s also been drastically improved since launch. It is in very good condition now, but far from perfect and far from being error free.
