CD Projekt Red is delaying the planned 1.2 patch for Cyberpunk 2077. In a series of tweets, the studio explained that the recent cyber attack combined with the “broad scope of the update” means it will need more time.
“Our goal for Patch 1.2 goes beyond any of our previous updates,” says the studio. “We have been working on a number of general quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure you get it. With that in mind, we plan to launch now in the second half of March.”
This update appears to have been the main patch that was scheduled for February, making the new target for the end of March a delay of approximately one month.
While we very much wanted to deliver Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 in the timeframe we detailed earlier, the recent cyber attack on the studio’s IT infrastructure and the broad scope of the update mean that this will unfortunately not happen – we will need more time. 1/3
“It is not the news we like to share, but we want to make sure that we release this update properly,” concludes the studio. “Stay tuned for more information as time approaches. Thank you for your continued patience and support.”
Cyberpunk 2077 had a difficult release, with several bugs that provoked a reaction from fans. He used DMCA removals to slow the spread of the stolen code. Since then, the Cyberpunk 2077 code would have been put up for auction by hackers.
