Cyberpunk 2077 concept art Johnny Silverhand emerged, revealing that the character portrayed by Keanu Reeves originally looked very different.
Several pieces of Cyberpunk 2077 concept art have recently appeared on the Artstation profile of artist Lea Leonowicz, painting a different image than Johnny Silverhand. You can see an example of such a piece below, in which Silverhand looks a little older than the version of the character we just met in the new CD Projekt Red game.
Unfortunately, Leonowicz did not provide any additional information along with Johnny Silverhand’s conceptual art, so it is impossible to guess when these pieces were put together. We cannot verify if Silverhand was like that before Keanu Reeves took the role, for example.
Still, it’s nice to see a Silverhand slightly different from the one we ventured into in Night City so recently in Cyberpunk 2077. Maybe CD Projekt Red was originally imagining that Silverhand’s personality and mannerisms would be different before Reeves took the role, but unless someone on the development team paints a very clear timeline of the character, we’ll probably never know for sure.
Cyberpunk 2077 did not have exactly the smoothest of release periods, with CD Projekt Red apologizing to customers for the game’s performance on PS4 and Xbox One and refunding purchases on both platforms. Earlier this week, Gabe Newell of Valve said he has “a lot of sympathy” for CD Projekt Red about the game’s release, and that he is sure the company will be able to change things.
If you are still looking to purchase Cyberpunk 2077, you may want to go to the CD Projekt PC store, where the Cyberpunk 2077 GOG version is already 50% off. This is a killer economy in a very recent launch.
