CVS to administer COVID-19 vaccines in Texas pharmacies, including San Antonio

SANTO ANTÓNIO – CVS Health will soon begin administering COVID-19 vaccines at pharmacies across Texas, including San Antonio, according to a national press release.

Individuals who fall into levels 1A and 1B will be eligible to receive the vaccine at certain CVS pharmacies in Abilene, Amarillo, Beaumont, Brownsville, El Paso, Houston, Laredo, Lubbock, Midland, Plano, San Antonio and Waco from 11 of February.

Appointments will be available for booking online at CVS.com or through the CVS app as early as February 9th. People without online access can call the hotline at 800-746-7287 to schedule an appointment starting on that date. Pass markings will not be provided.

The press release does not specify which of your locations will participate in the program.

CVS is expanding its program as each state works to vaccinate eligible populations across the country. The drugstore chain will also begin to administer the vaccine in 10 other states, including California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Virginia.

Previously, CVS administered vaccines only to residents and employees of long-term care institutions.

Appointments are likely to be limited. Supply is limited in the state, according to the press release, and CVS has secured a total of 38,000 doses for Texas pharmacies.
