Darvish finds out about trade with Fathers on Twitter, originally published on NBC Sports Chicago
With all due respect to Trevor Bauer, no one does it better on social media than Yu Darvish. But that didn’t stop him from being caught off guard on one of his platforms on Monday.
Darvish found on Twitter that the Cubs will switch him to the Fathers in a seven-player blockbuster.
Darvish has indicated in recent days that he knew he was the subject of rumors, even though tweeting on Monday no deal has been reached yet. But as the night progressed, several reports emerged on the structure of the trade, including the names of all seven players involved.
Other major league players responded to Darvish’s tweet, including Kenta Maeda, beginner of the twins and retired pitcher Dallas Braden.
Darvish seems to have a good sense of humor about the whole situation.
