CONNECTICUT – A rapid snowstorm dropped nearly four inches of snow in parts of Connecticut, while other areas received seven inches or less on Sunday afternoon. Snow started around 9 am and started to decrease after 5 pm
Southern Connecticut received snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour on Sunday afternoon, which raised snow totals above expectations. The winter storm alert for Fairfield and New Haven County was canceled at 6pm. Another inch of snow is possible in Middlesex and New London County until 9 pm, the weather service said.
A winter weather alert is in effect for Hartford, Tolland and Windham County for an additional 1-2 inches before 1 am on Monday. No warning remains for Litchfield County.

Another 1-3 inches of snow and hail are possible on Tuesday in Connecticut. Snow and ice are expected to start on Tuesday morning and continue for much of the day. More snow is also possible on Thursday.
