Senator Ted Cruz will attend the inauguration of President-elect Biden next week.
A source confirmed to Fox News that Texas Republican, who led the charge of contesting the results of the Electoral College during the joint session of Congress last week, will attend the inauguration ceremony in front of the Capitol on Wednesday. Austin’s NBC affiliate KXAN reported the news for the first time.
The other Lone Star State senator, Republican John Cornyn, confirmed on Twitter that he will also attend. Cornyn did not contest the results of the Electoral College during the session to certify the presidential election.
Cruz’s office could not be reached for comment.
Current members of Congress are getting tickets for them and a guest this year, unlike previous openings.
President Trump said last week that he will not attend the inauguration, although Vice President Mike Pence is expected to attend.

“I think the president’s rhetoric and language have crossed the line. I think it was irresponsible. I think it was reckless. And I think he needs to recognize that,” he said.
