A big fire broke out on a cruise ship moored off the coast of Greece on Friday afternoon.
Clouds of smoke were seen coming out of MSC Lirica, which has been moored in a Corfu port since January, according to Greek news website Kathimerini.
Fifty-one crew members were on board the 2,300-capacity ship when the fire broke out, but no one was injured, MSC Cruises told the Post.
The fire started in one of the ship’s fiberglass life rafts, and a preliminary investigation found that the damage was contained on the ship’s starboard side, the MSC said.
The images show that two lifeboats attached to the starboard side of the ship caught fire before the firefighting ships could respond to hell.
The cruise industry has been anchored for months amid the coronavirus pandemic.
