Griffin joined the Ravens as a reserve in the spring of 2018 and spent most of the 2020 season behind regular season MVP Lamar Jackson on the depth chart. The man affectionately known as RG3 debuted against the Pittsburgh Steelers in early December, while Jackson fought against COVID-19, but suffered a hamstring injury in that competition and ended up being placed on reserve by injury.
This was his last appearance in a Baltimore uniform.
The Ravens also played with Trace McSorley and, more recently, newcomer Tyler Huntley in QB. Huntley completed six of 13 attempts for 60 yards and also ran 32 yards against Buffalo and is on the line to be Jackson’s main reserve next fall.
As for Griffin, the 30-year-old must find a home as a reliable backup signal caller during the spring or after the start of training sessions.
