Crowd protest ‘SNL’ vaccine joke as anti-Semitism

“Saturday Night Live” wasn’t getting any laughs on West 49th Street, as dozens showed up with megaphones and signs to protest a joke from the previous week about vaccines in Israel.

The crowd, led hours before the program broadcast by former state deputy Dov Hikind, shouted “Shame on NBC!” and “Anti-Semitism is not funny!” outside the NBC West 49th Street entrance.

Comedian Michael Che provoked a negative reaction when he joked in a recent segment of the “Weekend Update”: “Israel is reporting that it vaccinated half of its population. I will guess that it is the Jewish half. “

“It’s incredible that they haven’t apologized yet,” Hikind told The Post.

“They did something so notorious, so horrible, that I personally am fed up with a big network like NBC giving themselves up to spreading hatred. This is basically what they did. “

He vowed to continue “whatever is needed” until the problem is recognized.

“I will not be silent about those things that really endanger the Jewish people,” he said.
