Crossover ‘Sabrina’ and ‘Riverdale’: complete list of connections in part 4

Friendly warning: the following article contains moderate spoilers for Sabrina’s chilling adventures Part 4.

Sabrina’s chilling adventuresthe final eight episodes send the teen witch holding the show to every imaginable corner of the cosmos. Alternative realities, real hell, you choose. So why doesn’t Sabrina’s journey through the multiverse not include a pit stop in nearby Greendale, Riverdale?

Well, a big cross between Sabrina and Riverdale was in the cards … but only if Netflix ordered the program beyond Part 4. As explained by showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Part 5 of Sabrina it would have set the stage for a “witch war”, which would apparently set the Fright Club against the “Riverdale witches”. Even crazier, these “witches” look suspiciously like Betty, Jughead, Archie, Veronica and Cheryl.

The good thing here is that Aguirre-Sacasa still plans to tell this crazy story, albeit through the magic of comics. Check out the intriguing art below:

That said, Part 4 still has its share of Riverdale screams. The first reference comes in episode 1 (“Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Eldritch Dark”), when Roz says to his fellow WICCA members: “In Riverdale, they have condoms in the bathroom”.

RiverdaleThe second mention comes during Episode 3 (“Chapter Thirty-One: The Weirdo”). A character named Lucas attends Baxter High for a brief period, and when Sabrina asks about his whereabouts later, she says, “As far as I know, he was transferred to Riverdale High.”

And although this is not a direct Riverdale Connection, Episode 6 (“Chapter Thirty-Four: The Returnee”) features a family trio of guest stars. Sean Depner, Sarah Desjardins and Doralynn Mui – they all played Stonewall Prep students in Riverdale – appear as members of an ill-fated rock band.

Did you understand all these references in Part 4? did we lost any? And what do you think of the witch crossover that is yet to come? Leave all your thoughts in a comment below.
