Crime Fighters – Who Killed Khallid Henderson ?: Grandmother Seeking Justice for Her Grandson Shot in Philadelphia Basketball Court

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – A Philadelphia grandmother who lost her grandson due to armed violence is making two appeals, one asking for help to resolve the case and the other to save the youth of her beloved city.

“He was a beast on the basketball court, as from birth, Khallid bounced a ball from birth,” said Khalilah Moore with a smile on his face.

Moore said his grandson, Khallid Henderson, was always playing basketball.

“He took that dirty ball with him everywhere he went,” she said.

This is what he was doing on Wednesday, September 16, at Roberto Clemente Park, in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia.

“He went to the court to play ball and, around 8:10 pm, I think they believed they said the guys went up on the basketball court and shot her. And Khallid lost his life on the basketball court,” said Moore.

Police said three armed men fired about 55 shots at the crowded court.

Several shots hit Henderson, killing him. Police said the 21-year-old was the target, but his family could not understand why.

“He loved everyone. He was not part of the street life. He was not part of any fight. He had no problems with anyone,” said Moore.

The city of Philadelphia is offering a reward of up to $ 20,000 for the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. All you need to do is call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.

Moore says the message to city officials is simple: do something to stop armed violence.

“Why can’t we understand why our young people are dying on the streets of Philadelphia? Who’s giving them the guns?” Moore asked.

She is just begging for any kind of tip.

“Anyone knows something about jackets, the types of shoes they wore or if they had gloves or a hat, whatever you remember about these guys, call the Crime Commission so we can get justice for Khallid,” he said. Moore.
