The Cowboys have already closed out Dak Prescott with a four-year, $ 160 million span. But the club exercised a procedural move to protect Prescott in the future.

Dallas scored the Prescott franchise for the second year in a row, which is exactly what the quarterback and his agent Todd France wanted. It is the exclusive brand, which would mean that no other team could negotiate with Prescott – if he were on the open market.

Although Prescott’s contract is expected to have an unlabeled clause, Dallas marking the QB in 2021 means that a subsequent label would be Prescott’s third. And a third tag would require a 44 percent increase in the maximum number in the last year of your business.

Prescott also has two years in his contract that will be canceled one day before the start of the 2025 league year, which is after the franchise etiquette deadline. So, even if the Cowboys wanted to score Prescott that year, it would be too late.

All this to say that France negotiated a deal for Prescott that made it very difficult for Dallas to re-mark the franchise as a defender.
