Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott talks about having a chance to win the NFC East title

The Dallas Cowboys still have an opportunity to beat NFC East by going into the final week of the regular season.

Despite losing quarterback Dak Prescott due to an injury at the end of the season in Week 5 against the New York Giants, the Cowboys managed to recover around reserve Andy Dalton and won three consecutive games, which put them in a position to steal the division crown away from the Washington football team.

Coming from a 37-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16, Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott shared his thoughts with Sports Illustrated about the unusual 2020 NFL season.

“I mean, it’s a little bit weird – but this is a weird year,” Elliott told Sports Illustrated from the Cowboys locker room on Sunday night. “Like, if there was a year, this would be the year. So let’s get back to work and get ready to do everything we can to win next week, so that we can have a chance to win this division.”

In Week 17, the Cowboys must win and need help from the Eagles to claim the division title. If Dallas comes with a victory over the Giants, and if the Eagles manage to defeat the leader of the Washington division, Dallas will host a game in the NFC playoffs.
